“Challenged by the difficult year of 2020 that we all just endured, I conceived and designed the Racial DeckEquity Cards over this past Martin Luther King Jr weekend.

Organizations have been posting black squares all throughout 2020, but having worked in these different contexts, I wanted to create a usable tool...a deck of cards much like what designers often use but for a different audience--for organizational leaders in across sectors and across levels...to be able to ACTUALLY go beyond DEI in an HR context. You can hire BIPOC all the day long (which still seems hard for folks) but beyond that, how are you infusing DEI across the entire organization?

This is why operations cannot be left out, but must be a core aspect of this work. Not just in HR, but also across Finance, Operations, Facilities, Data, Communications, Development, IT, R&D/Innovation, and Org Culture. It's a card deck to help operationalize racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizations, like yours.”
